What’s on the menu?

Here are three examples of daily menus used in the study:

DAY 1
BREAKFAST & SNACK: Sweet Potato Oatmeal and Baked Peaches, Orange and 2% Milk

LUNCH: Spaghetti & Meatballs with Marinara Sauce and Italian Style Peas, Whole Wheat Dinner Roll, Low Sodium Vegetable Juice and 2% Milk

DINNER: Cream of Tomato Soup with Garlic Cheese Bread, Pistachios, Pear Cup and Low Sodium Vegetable Juice

DAY 2
BREAKFAST: Ranch Skillet of Eggs, Cheese, Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes and Black Beans and Baked Fruit and Milk

LUNCH: White Bean and Ham Soup with Apples and Raisins, Low Sodium Vegetable Juice, Applesauce and Honey Roasted Mixed Nuts

DINNER & SNACK: Salmon Patty with Lemon-Dill Glaze, Wild Rice Pilaf And Seasoned Peas And Pearl Onions, Orange, Dried Apricots and Pistachios

DAY 3
BREAKFAST: Cinnamon Oatmeal with Apples and Raisins and Brown Sugar Peaches, Orange and 2% Milk

LUNCH & SNACK: Grilled Chicken Breast with Wild Rice Salad and Spiced Fruit Medley, Pistachios, Low Sodium Vegetable Juice, Pear Cup and 2% Milk

DINNER: White Chicken with Potatoes and Peas, Whole Wheat Bread, Gelatin and Cheddar Cheese
