After Kathy O’Leary, a physician and mother of two, survived a massive stroke, she transformed her recovery into a mission to improve stroke care. Kathy, who was 57, couldn’t find a stroke support group, so she created one.
As a physician, she championed the establishment of a task force of medical, mental health and social services professionals to educate the public and professionals about the challenges of stroke recovery. Her determination and leadership have provided vital support and resources for survivors in her community, making her a source of information and inspiration.
