Interested in making your own baby food? It’s easier than you think. By doing so, you’ll know exactly what your baby is eating. Making homemade baby food can also save money and cut down on packaging waste. Here are five easy steps to make wholesome homemade food for your baby. Watch the video for some inspiration!

Five Steps to Healthy Homemade Baby Food

  1. Wash your hands and equipment with warm soapy water and rinse them well.
  2. Scrub and peel the fruit and vegetables you’ll be using.
  3. Bake, steam, roast or microwave the fruit and vegetables until tender.
  4. Puree the fruit and/or vegetables in a food processor, blender, immersion blender or food mill with a little liquid, such as water, breast milk or formula. Or mash with a fork if your baby can handle more texture.
  5. Store the baby food in the refrigerator if using within 1 to 2 days. For later use, freeze in ice cube trays or single-serve containers. When ready to use, thaw in the refrigerator.
